After six long days of his vocational exam in Production Electronics, Sebastian Skei was awarded the grade 'Excellent', which is the highest grade possible. For the exam, Sebastian's tasks included building two Ex ia instruments and a power supply unit.

Sebastian is one of our six TAF students at ClampOn. The TAF (Technical and Industrial Education) program in Norway is designed to provide students with both academic and vocational education. It combines traditional high school subjects with practical training in technical fields. Students spend part of their time in school learning theoretical subjects and the rest in a workplace gaining hands-on experience.
The program is offered through Knarvik Upper Secondary School and spans four years. Throughout these four years, students alternate between 2-3 days of school and work each week. In the final (fourth) year, students undertake a six-day vocational exam, during which two assessors from the county evaluate the task assigned to the student.
The TAF/YSK model at Knarvik Upper Secondary School leads to both general university admissions certification and a vocational certificate over four years. During the first two years, students have the status of a student, while in the last two years, they are apprentices with a training contract. Practical and theoretical training go hand in hand throughout the four years, providing students with a unique competence by closely following experienced professionals.
